Visiting the studio

Feel free to call into the studio and browse around. You will find many items on display that haven't made it into the web site. You can also find me at markets and shows.

The studio is open most weekdays in summer, 10am - 5pm (often longer) by chance or appointment. A phone call or email will avoid a wasted journey.

Outside the tourist season there aren't many folks about and my open hours are more sporadic, but if I am home, or working in the shop, I can usually open the gallery for visitors.

  • If the OPEN sign is up then come on in.

  • If the CLOSED sign is up then I'm sorry but you missed me.

  • If neither the OPEN sign or CLOSED sign is up, and there is a car in the drive, then I am likely at home so come and knock on doors, check out back in case I am doing chores, and we will see what we can do.

Many weekends I am away to farmers' markets or craft shows. I am a frequent  vendor at Antigonish Farmer's Market and Mabou Farmer's Market during the summer months, and at other times I make occasional trips to New Glasgow, Tatamagouche, Dartmouth and sometimes even Moncton Market in New Brunswick. Seafoam Woodturning Studio

Location: Seafoam Woodturning Studio is located at Seafoam on the north shore of Nova Scotia, approximately half way between Tatamagouche and Pictou. The nearest village is River John

The studio is right on the Sunrise Trail, a pleasant vacation destination.

Map showing my location

By Air: The studio is less than two hours drive from Halifax International Airport (YHZ).

By Sea: There are Ferry services to Nova Scotia from  Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.

By Road: The main road access to Nova Scotia is through New Brunswick on the Trans Canada Highway. I would recommend turning off the TCH at Amherst and taking the Sunrise Trail Scenic Route all the way to my studio.

Accommodations: There are too many options to list them all here. I would refer you to the Sunrise Trail Accommodation Directory and suggest you look for something in the communities of Tatamagouche, Brule, Marshville, River John, Seafoam, Toney River, Scotsburn, Caribou or Pictou. These communities are all within a 30 minute drive.
