Visiting the studio

Summer 2008

This summer I can be found at several markets:

Pictou Weekend Market
21 June - 21 September 2008

Saturday & Sunday,
10am - 5pm.

Farmer's Markets
I plan to be at a farmer's market on most Saturdays. This will mainly be at Antigonish Farmer's Market, and occasionally Moncton Market in New Brunswick. Check the Seafoam Woodturning blog for updates. There is also the possibility of a mid-week market at Sherbrook Village - stay tuned!

At other times
Most other days the studio at Seafoam is open 10am - 5pm (often longer) by chance or appointment. A phone call or email will avoid a wasted journey.

Feel free to call into the studio and browse around. You will find many items on display that haven't made it into the web site.

A viewing window in the gallery allows visitors to see the workshop, where they can sometimes watch me at work.

Seafoam Woodturning Studio

Location: Seafoam Woodturning Studio is located at Seafoam on the north shore of Nova Scotia, approximately half way between Tatamagouche and Pictou. The nearest village is River John

The studio is right on the Sunrise Trail, a pleasant vacation destination.

Map showing my location

By Air: The studio is less than two hours drive from Halifax International Airport (YHZ).

By Sea: There are Ferry services to Nova Scotia from  Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. Visitors from the USA can take The Cat from Bar Harbor or Portland, Maine.

By Road: The main road access to Nova Scotia is through New Brunswick on the Trans Canada Highway. I would recommend turning off the TCH at Amherst and taking the Sunrise Trail Scenic Route all the way to my studio.

Accommodations: There are too many options to list them all here. I would refer you to the Sunrise Trail Accommodation Directory and suggest you look for something in the communities of Tatamagouche, Brule, Marshville, River John, Seafoam, Toney River, Scotsburn, Caribou or Pictou. These communities are all within a 30 minute drive.
